Field Trip in Nara and Osaka

2015/08/06

53 Bekka students went on a field trip to Osaka and Nara on May 3 and 4.

On the first day of the trip, the students visited Osaka Tsunami Storm Surge Disaster Prevention Station to learn about natural disaster and disaster prevention. After that, the students tried Nigirizumi making at Nara Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Then, they headed down to Asuka Institute of Kansai University and enjoyed Suikawari, a common game to play in Japanese summer where we try and hit a watermelon with a stick blindfolded. They also worked in groups to come up with Senryu (Japanese form of short poetry).

The next day, they visited Nara Prefecture Complex of Man'yo Culture and then visited Kawachi Winery in Osaka and Meiji Yogurt Factory. It was a great opportunity for the Bekka students to learn about Japanese culture and technology.
