Field Trip to Nara
2013/06/03
On June 1, the students went on a field trip in Nara where the scenery was beautiful with new green leaves.
They experienced making 'Onigawara', the traditional craftwork of Japanese tiles that are used for the roof cresting of the traditional style housings.
They also visited Todaiji temple and admired the biggest statue of Buddha in Japan.
On the way back, some students gave presentations regarding "the difference between shrines and temples", "the history of Buddhism" on a school bus. It was a fun and productive day with a lot of opportunities to learn Japanese tradition and culture.
