The 2nd PDM Seminar 2025 "The 3rd Networking Meeting"

The 2nd PDM Seminar 2025, titled "The 3rd Networking Meeting," was held by PDM, Ph.D Disaster Management program, Graduate School of Societal Safety Sciences, Kansai University.

The seminar aimed to promote academic exchange and networking among researchers, students, and practitioners engaged in disaster risk reduction (DRR).

The seminar opened with welcoming remarks by Katsuyuki Kamei, Professor and Director of PDM.

Following the opening remarks, two keynote presentations were delivered:

These presentations provided conceptual and practical perspectives on disaster resilience and disaster risk reduction, stimulating active discussion among participants from diverse academic backgrounds.

After the keynote lectures, flash talks by poster presenters were conducted, allowing participants to briefly introduce their research topics.

The flash talks were followed by a poster session, where researchers and students presented their ongoing studies and engaged in in-depth discussions.

The event also included a networking reception held alongside the poster session, providing participants with opportunities to exchange ideas, build professional connections, and explore future collaboration across institutions and disciplines.

The seminar concluded with closing remarks by Tadahiro Motoyoshi, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Societal Safety Sciences, Kansai University.

Conducted entirely in English, the seminar successfully fostered a multicultural and interactive academic environment, reflecting PDM's commitment to cultivating an international learning community in disaster management and resilience studies.
