UMAP-COIL Joint Honors Program: August 17th -18th Activities Report

On August 17th, our Joint Honors Program students spent the day onboard the Peace Boat, presenting the results of their Interview Quest. In preparation for their presentations, the students had interviewed the passengers on the ship on their knowledge of SDGs, adopting a proper qualitative analytic method.

They also took part in a lecture by Professor of History Alexis Dudden (University of Connecticut, USA) entitled "Ainu and Okinawa."

Due to the impending typhoon, on August 18th all activites at the scheduled port of Kushiro (Hokkaido) were cancelled for safety reasons. The Peace Boat docked instead in Hakodate (Hokkaido), where our Joint Honors Program students enjoyed a day of activities.
