Osaka Seminar: August 3rd - 4th Activities Report

On August 3rd, the Joint Honors Program students set out on their own to explore their choice of local city: Takatsuki, Osaka, or Kyoto. 

 

In the afternoon, 4 Japanese students and 21 Global University participants who will join the Joint Honors Program students on the Peace Boat arrived at Kogaku-kan to take part in a Peace Boat Cruise Orientation.

On August 4th, after morning orientation at Kogakukan, 16 Joint Honors Program participants and 21 Global University participants departed for 3-week cruise with Peace Boat. The group will participate in various onboard/onshore programs with SDGs in mind as they cruise around Japan, with stops in South Korea and Russia.

 

 

 

 

Happy to finally be setting sail!

 

Onboard the Peace Boat Cruise Ship, the students had an introduction to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), toured the ship, and took part in a departure ceremony and tour of the ship. They also undertook various orientation activities for the onboard activities, including emergency drills, information sessions on onboard resources, and planning for UMAP-COIL and Global University activities and events.
