概要:
 Active control of acoustic noise and enhancement of desired audio signal, such as speech or music, have been of significant interest to researchers for many commercial, biomedical, and military applications for several decades. Rapid advancement of digital technology and powerful signal processing techniques is offering new opportunities to explore and search for cost-effective and practical system realization and implementations of adaptive active noise control (ANC) and speech enhancement (SE) techniques in real time.
 In this presentation, we review several architectures and adaptive signal processing algorithms we have worked on for attenuating the interfering noise signals and enhancing the desired speech signals. We discuss the cost-effective "feedback" ANC methods that do not require reference sensors (or microphones) and are suitable for dealing with distributed noise source environments, the impact of noise characteristics and noise decomposition on the performance of single and parallel realization of ANC and feedback ANC systems, and the possibility of using directional ultrasonic loudspeakers for controlling the noise remotely. We also give an overview of using new signal processing based algorithms for enhancing the quality and intelligibility of speech signals in general, and for improving the signal processing pipeline of hearing aid devices in particular.
