講　演：　"The Behavior of Proteins: Enzymes, Mechanisms, and Control"

概　要：　Proteins are the workhorses of the cell, providing structural support, enabling movement, driving metabolism, facilitating gene expression, and mediating cellular communication. Each protein's unique three-dimensional structure defines its function. Enzymes, as catalytic proteins, drive the chemical reactions that transform matter and energy in living cells.In this talk, I will explain how enzymes accelerate reactions, using chymotrypsin to illustrate how structural features affect activity. I will also discuss how to quantify reaction speed and specificity to evaluate physiological function. Finally, I will cover the regulation of enzyme activity by inhibitors--including drugs--and allosteric regulation, which can both inhibit and activate enzymes.
