In the center of the screen are Osaka Castle and the surrounding area,
in front of which the old Yodo River (current Okawa River) flows.
The painting adopts the Northern perspective except for the Sumiyoshi
Shrine and Shitennoji Temple on the upper right corner, which show a viewpoint
from the West. The Uji Byodo-In Temple, Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine, and Mt.
Tenno, painted on the far left, are actually a long way from the city of Osaka.
They were squeezed into the limited space of the screen, however,
with the help of golden clouds, which obscure the actual distance.
