　現在カンボジアのサッカークラブチームで指導者として活躍されている和田紳平さん（2012年第一高等学校卒・2016年関西大学卒）が、チームに所属する少年たちを引き連れて第一中学校を訪問されました。同年齢である3年生との交流授業が行われ、互いの文化を紹介するスライドを準備してプレゼンをしたり、日本文化をテーマにしたゲームやアクティビティなどが英語で行われました。緊張した雰囲気で授業が開始されましたが、終了時には打ち解けた笑顔でやり取りをしていたことが印象的でした。
　引率の和田さんは第一高等学校時代サッカー部に所属し、2年連続の全国選手権大会出場に1年時からレギュラー選手として貢献。卒業後は関西大学人間健康学部に進学してスポーツ科学を学びながら体育会サッカー部に所属し選手生活を継続。大学卒業後はフィリピンとカンボジアでプロ選手としてプレーした後、本田圭佑氏が運営するSoltilo Familia Soccer School Cambodiaの監督兼コーチとなり、現在は現地組織の代表を務めています。「サッカーに恩返しがしたい」との思いで日々奮闘されています。

The students at the Kandai school were very nice and welcoming. The students there were really funny and very interactive and I liked how all of the students tried their best to communicate to me and the others. I really enjoyed visiting the school and being able to communicate with others and making new friends. I liked how the students presented in English so that we could understand and present about places we should go. I really enjoyed doing the interactive games with the other students because it was fun and we were able to laugh together and understand each other more. I really like how we were able to make new friends and communicate to people from other countries.

Soltilo Familia スクール生②
During our trip in Osaka we have visited to a jr. high school to share our culture with them. Overall, I think it was a great experience for us even though we couldn't communicate to each other very well. It was fun because we had games that we had to play together and they also tried the best to talk to us, which was hard but somewhat understand. It was also great since we experience what's like in school in Japan which we could not experience in Cambodia. We noticed there were many differences like we had to wear uniforms, the lesson time are also different, 60min lesson 10min rest time, 40min lunch time.

第一中学校3年生①
外国からやってきた生徒たちとの交流は、普段関わることの少ないカンボジアということもあってとても貴重な体験となりました。普段勉強している英語を使ってコミュニケーションをとり、一緒に折り紙で鶴を折りました。プレゼンでは、カンボジアの知らなかった一面に接する事ができたし、カンボジアに興味を持ちました。一方、こちら側の日本の石垣島についてのプレゼンにも興味を持ってもらえて、素晴らしい交流になったと思います。

第一中学校3年生②
7月10日にカンボジアからの生徒との交流会がありました。
最初は今まで習ってきた文法を使って話せるか不安で、話しかけることができませんでした。でも話さなかったらお互いに勉強にならないと思い、勇気を出して話してみると、話が伝わりました。話が伝わった時、とても嬉しかったです。でも、完璧に話そうと意識しすぎて、表情が固かったなと後悔しています。違う言語の人と話す時に必要なことは、会話はもちろん、表情、声の出し方で話しやすさは変わるのではないかと思いました。
