The lecture began with an introduction to the European Union, followed by a discussion on the theme of “United in Diversity.” highlighting how the 27 member countries work together in cooperation rather than in conflict, striving toward a borderless way of life.
It was also highlighted that the EU and Japan share numerous connections and common values across fields such as politics, trade, human rights, science and technology, interaction of people, and education. Moreover, in the introduction to Erasmus+, the EU’s educational support program that Japanese universities and students can participate in, specific details were provided about opportunities for short-term study abroad and the Joint Degree Programs at the master’s level.
