Kansai University and KU Leuven Joint workshop on Historiography

NEWS EVENT2024/03/18

A Joint workshop on Historiography was held with KU Leuven, one of our partner universities in Belgium, on Monday 11 March.

Before the workshop, President Maeda and Vice-President Fujita paid a courtesy visit to Prof Luc Sels, Rector of KU Leuven. They exchanged views on the global situation surrounding universities and discussed the exchange between the two universities through the Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025.

This was followed by a meeting with Prof Liesbet Heyvaert, Dean of the Faculty of Letters, and other professors from the Faculty of Letters to discuss the status of exchange programmes and the possibility of future exchange programs for young researchers.

The workshop was followed by introductions of the research of four researchers: Prof. Takao Fujita and Associate Prof. Keita Morimoto from the Faculty of Letters of Kansai University, Prof. Angela Schottenhammer and Associate Prof. Andreas Stynen from KU Leven.

The reception was attended not only by workshop participants, but also by KU Leuven alumni who have studied abroad at KU Leuven and KU Leuven students who are currently studying abroad at partner universities in Belgium.

We would like to thank all the KU Leuven, faculty staff, students, and Alumni who participated in this workshop. We look forward to conducting more workshops and exchange programs wit KU Leuven in the future.
