On December 3, 2024, the seminar titled "What is the Czech Republic Like?" was held in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online participation.
The event welcomed two distinguished speakers: Ms. Suzanka Hanibalova, Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Sakai and an alumna of our university originally from the Czech Republic, and Professor Tomohiro Sato from the Faculty of Engineering Science, who lived in the Czech Republic. The seminar was conducted under the theme "Perspectives from a Czech Alumni and a Faculty Member Who Lived in the Czech Republic."
The session covered a broad range of topics, including basic information about the Czech Republic, its history, language, culture, and cuisine, all accompanied by a rich array of photographs. Additionally, participants were treated to insights into traditions and habits that only those who have lived there could know, providing a vivid and realistic view of life in the Czech Republic.
The fusion of perspectives from the two speakers made the seminar particularly engaging, with many participants expressing their desire to visit the Czech Republic. There was also an intriguing discussion about the Czech Pavilion, set to be featured at the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo, including behind-the-scenes stories about its design and current status, further raising excitement for the Expo.
We will continue to organize such engaging seminars to share the diverse cultures and perspectives of Europe in the future.
