Expert’s Eyes

A new era for disaster prevention and disaster mitigation is about to begin in Japan. We are standing at the entrance of a new era where the technologies and services of various fields that brought economic wealth to Japan will be applied to disaster prevention and disaster mitigation, and the “fields which are not specialized in disaster prevention” will play the leading role in the fields of disaster prevention and disaster mitigation. My laboratory tries to find lessons from past disasters, and aim for a society where all people can enjoy the benefits of “safe and secure” technology in a sustainable way.
