Expert’s Eyes

We develop and apply statistical analysis methods for medical and epidemiological data. In recent years, Evidence Based Medicine (EBM) and Evidence Based Policy Making (EBPM) have been emphasized and the use of data has been increasing. By clarifying and quantifying the impact of medical treatment and health policy on patients and residents, we can make effective use of limited resources (people, goods, and money) and make optimal decisions on treatment and policy.
Most medical and epidemiological data are based on living organisms and are characterized by large variations in each piece of data. My research focuses on the development of new statistical analysis methods to clarify the characteristics of these data using various statistical methods, and on the application of the developed methods to actual medical care and policy making.
