About Qualifications
The qualifications that you can acquire at the Faculty of Societal Safety Sciences are listed below.
(1) Teaching License (applying) [Class 1 Junior High-School (social studies), Class 1 High-School (Civics)]
* The date of starting the planned teacher-training course may change depending on the assessment by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
(2) Societal Safety Sciences Specialist
(3) Social Researcher (Those who enrolled in and after 2014 can acquire it.)
(4) Teacher Librarian
(5) Librarian
(6) Curator
(7) Social Education Supervisors
About the Societal Safety Sciences Specialist
In 2011, we created a Societal Safety Sciences Specialist system, which is our own qualification system and established a program for students to acquire the qualification.
Currently, the qualification of Societal Safety Sciences Specialist can be acquired only at the Faculty of Societal Safety Sciences of Kansai University as it is the university’s unique qualification. Human resources with such qualification, however, are broadly required with the growing interest in safe and secure society. Aiming to meet such social demands, we plan to spread human resources qualified as a Societal Safety Sciences Specialist broadly to society.
1. Definition
Human resources who are able to contribute to the preparation for natural disasters such as earthquakes and social disasters such as transportation accidents are required to have the ability to assess and understand the safety problems in the community life and social activities, the ability to plan measures to solve the problems, the management skills to implement the measures, and the ability to communicate with experts in different fields. A person who acquires these abilities/skills and is able to take the responsibility for safety and security in various fields of society shall be qualified as a Societal Safety Sciences Specialist.
2. Requirements to be qualified
1. Complete the specified subjects in the Advanced programs of the Faculty of Societal Safety Sciences (refer to the curriculum table below) with no less than 2.8 of GPA score.
(The GPAs of specified subjects shall be used.)
2. Attend an extracurricular course (Basic Lifesaving Training I, etc.).
