Our research teams are developing medical devices using Kansai University Medical Polymers (KUMPs). KUMPs change form at body temperature, from a sol to gel state, and undergo biodegradation in the body at the targeted speed.
When drugs prove ineffective, it means that they have failed to adequately reach the target lesion and have produced side effects. To solve the problem of ineffective drug treatment, we have researched an intelligent process for administration of drugs and have developed KUMPs, which selectively deliver drugs into the lesion. We have also researched ways to make an intelligent diagnosis with the help of quick, accurate, and non-invasive diagnostic techniques and systems that minimize patient burden.
