高校2年生 英語暗唱コンテストを行いました

3月9日(金)高校2年生は関西大学BIG100にて英語暗唱コンテストを行いました。 英語暗唱コンテストは2回目で、昨年の暗唱課題はアメリカケネディ大統領の就任演説でした。 今年の暗唱課題は、キング牧師の有名な演説「I have a Dream」。 英語Ⅱの授業中に全員が暗唱に取り組み、クラス代表1名が選ばれました。そして各クラスの代表10名が大きな舞台で暗唱を披露しました。 審査員は英語科の先生方で、最優秀、優秀、審査員特別賞が選ばれました。 代表の10名は詰まってしまった人や緊張のあまり暗唱内容を忘れてしまう人もいましたが、それでも皆堂々と暗唱してくれました 。 “I Have a Dream.” By Martin Luther King, Jr. I say to you today my friend…, so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.” I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave- owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood. I have a dream that one day even the State of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice. I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today. I have a dream that one day―down in Alabama―with its vicious racists, with its Governor having his lips dripping with the words of interposition and nullification―one day right there in Alabama, little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers. I have a dream today! 生徒・審査員の先生の感想 僕は昨年に引き続き2回目の出場となりました。 去年よりも発音や声の大きさに気を付けて練習したことが最優秀を頂くという結果につながったと思います。 今後もいろいろなことに挑戦していきたいと思います。 (H組 男子) 正直なところ、演説中の記憶はありません。 去年も出場していましたが、それくらいパフォーマンスをすることに必死でした。 (I組 女子) 今年度の暗唱のキング牧師は昨年に比べて文章が長く、単語も難しかったので覚えるのに時間がかかりました。 私の祖母は英語が得意で、発表前にはいろいろとアドバイスをもらいながら練習をしました。 その練習の成果が出て、優秀賞を頂くことができ本当に良かったと思います。 (B組 女子) 昨年よりも難易度の高い題材ではありましたが、みんな頑張ってくれました。出場者以外のみんなの聴く態度も立派でした。 １０クラス全員で作り上げた、有意義な暗唱コンテストであったと思います。 (審査委員長 岡崎先生) |
