KU-Eastern Oregon University COIL Kick-off Live Meeting

On October 15th Kansai University students in the class of Multilateral Project-Based Learning led by Dr. Keiko Ikeda (Vice-Director, Institute for Innovative Global Education) and Dr. Jiunyan Wu (Specially Appointed Assistant Professor) officially kicked off their 5-week COIL project with students in Eastern Oregon University, USA.

The first live meeting allowed both sides of students to get acquainted with each other. More importantly, each team had the opportunity to nominate its team leader and reach a team consensus and agree on the approach to move forward.
In this COIL project, the SDGs is the main theme. Each team will need to come out with creative business ideas how they will advocate SDGs through further promoting the SDGs websites and relevant mobile applications. To facilitate their teamwork, instructors and students will mainly use the new ImmerseU platform (https://class2class.com/) for the exchange of information as well as team communication. This COIL project exemplifies that the COIL approach is affordable, accessible, and scalable. The final joint meeting will be scheduled on November 19th.
