Designated as a
Super Global High School (SGH)
-Fostering the ability to inquire

In 2014, Kansai University Senior High School (KUSHS) was designated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as a Super Global High School for our endeavors to develop students prepared for a globalized work place. Since 2010, when KUSHS was founded, we have, through “Project” subjects, been teaching our students how to find their own research themes, approach their issues logically, solve problems, and present their research.

To achieve this goal, we have various activities. One of them is the study tour, which is conducted about a month after students entered KUSHS, where students learn how to do research. Also they have a two-hour lesson a week for advancing their project-based study. They study outside school, too. In the 10th grade, they make visits to global companies in Kyoto as part of their research, and afterwards, give a poster session. In the 11th grade, they go on a trip to Hawaii, where they visit local companies for their research, giving a presentation in Hawaii and back in Japan.

Our school has an exchange program with counterparts in Singapore and Taiwan. During the program, our students have a debate on global issues or give a presentation about their research.

In the 12th grade, all the students give presentations on their graduation theses as the recapitulation of the project-based course.

These programs are administered in close coordination with Kansai University and other institutions.
