Module 3International Business & EntrepreneurshipInternational Business for EntrepreneursThis course is for students who are seeking new business ideas and inspiration and may be interested in starting their own businesses in the future. We will look at case studies and business models with a focus on Japan, China, and the US and especially on internet businesses. Students will also have the opportunity to work in groups to develop their own business ideas and make a pitch to a venture capitalist for feedback.2 creditsFall SemesterBusiness & Japanese PeopleThis class will introduce guest lecturers consisting of non-Japanese entrepreneurs who have established businesses in Japan to give their insight on how they started and operate their businesses in Japan. In addition, guest lecturers may include Japanese and non-Japanese company employees to give insight on the business practices and behaviors in a Japanese company. Students will learn firsthand from case studies and from guest lectur-ers and will get introductory knowledge of Japanese business practices as well as how to start a company in Japan. 2 creditsFall SemesterMarketing in JapanThis is an interactive course which focuses on recent devel-opments in marketing with attention to actual processes and strategies in each industry. It aims to introduce the practical views and opinions of experienced players in the field of marketing.2 creditsFall SemesterJapanese Industries and Companies(The Global Competition) This lecture is structured to explain the industrial organiza-tion and (global) marketing management of Japanese companies. Some Japanese companies still have sustained their development through several types of marketing strate-gies under the highly competitive environment.
