
There are several ways to engage in research activities at Kansai University. The following information is about the positions that are available to scholars from overseas.
Scholar exchanges are implemented between Kansai University and its partner universities with whom it has academic exchange agreements.
“Exchange Scholar” falls into either of the following two categories:
Information / conditions for exchange scholars
This position is available to distinguished scholars whom Kansai University wishes to invite in order to raise standards for academic research and education at the university. Those scholars are not limited to ones from our partner universities. There are four kinds of Visiting Scholar as follows:
(1) Visiting Professor
A foreign scholar who is invited from abroad to teach classes and/or seminars at Kansai University, for a maximum period of six months.
(2) Visiting Researcher
A foreign scholar who is invited from abroad to engage primarily in research projects in collaboration with a member or members of faculties at Kansai University, for a maximum period of six months
(3) Visiting Lecturer
A foreign scholar currently visiting Japan who is invited to give a lecture or a series of lectures at Kansai University
(4) Special Lecturer
A distinguished person who is invited from abroad to give a lecture or a series of lectures at Kansai University
Information / conditions for visiting scholars (Visiting Professor, Visiting Researcher)
We welcome scholars from overseas who are either faculty members or researchers at universities or equivalent institutions, and are willing to conduct research activities at Kansai University. Japanese scholars who meet the criteria and are engaged in research pursuits abroad are also qualified.
Information / conditions for scholars from overseas
In compliance with the “Internal Regulation Regarding the Usage of Accommodation for International Scholars at Kansai University”, we have contracted 9 apartments in the university's neighborhood for exchange and visiting scholars. The remaining apartments in the complex are inhabited by local residents. The apartments come fully furnished, but please bring your own computer. For more details, see below:
1.Location
The apartments are located in a quiet residential area approximately 25 minutes on foot and 15 minutes by bicycle to the main entrance of the campus. As some of the streets are narrow and are in a hilly area, care is required when traveling to and from the university.
2.Convenience
Supermarkets, family-type operations, bookstore, post office, banks, ATMs, medical/dental and other types of clinics, sushi and other restaurants are located near Senriyama station.
Please refer to the Garbage Sorting Instructions in your room regarding garbage disposal.
3.Floor Plan/Facilities
3rooms, living, Dining and kitchen (approx. 60m²);
Living room, dining room, kitchen, Japanese style tatami room (9.7m²), Western-style bedroom (9.7m²), den (9.7m²), and bathroom.
Furnishings; sofa, TV, telephone, semi-double bed, cot, desk & chair, cupboard, refrigerator, washing machine, dining table & chairs, microwave oven, rice cooker, toaster, air conditioners (two of them), heater, iron, vacuum cleaner, tableware, kitchen utensils and other basic items that are required for everyday life.
