SIIEJ 2020 "The Impact of COVID-19 and the Future of International Education" Day 1

On September 2nd, Dr. Keiko Ikeda, Vice-Director of IIGE/Professor at Kansai University joined the first day of SIIEJ 2020 "The Impact of COVID-19 and the Future of International Education", organized by RECSIE (https://siiej.org/), as a speaker and panelist. Dr. Ikeda gave a presentation titled "Developing COIL during the Time of Health Crisis", in which she introduced how COIL/VE could be implemented by showing different programs that KU/IIGE has been involved with and past collaborations that KU/IIGE has done with overseas partners. In addition, she pointed out the significance of COIL/VE in the current health crisis and explained how COIL/VE will play a key role in international education considering the recent global development.


 

Dr. Ikeda also joined the panel discussion on "The COVID-19 Paradigm Shift in International Education – How do we create new industry-government-academic synergies for nurturing global citizenship", where the panelists discussed issues regarding learning outcome assessments and curriculum in international education in the current crisis.
