海外ゲストスピーカーによる講義を実施しました

2026年5月21日に、アメリカの北テキサス大学危機管理と災害科学部教授のリン トリスタン先生（Professor Tristan Lin, Department of Emergency Management and Disaster Science, University of North Texas）を講師に招いて、「Nowhere to Go: Evacuation and Sheltering in Response to the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake」と題した講義を実施しました。

リン先生は、本学部の城下英行准教授、ニューヨーク大学アルバニー校危機管理と国土安全学部のグリア アレックス准教授（Associate Professor Alex Greer, Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, University at Albany）とともに、2024年能登半島地震の際の避難に関する調査を実施しました。今回のセミナーでは、リン先生らが実施した世帯調査（質問紙調査）に関して、理論的フレームワークの解説と調査結果の一部の紹介がありました。また、リン先生がアメリカで取り組まれている別の避難行動に関する実験的研究についても紹介していただきました。

講義中は、活発な質疑が行われ、参加者全員でさまざまな視点から避難について議論することができました。また、海外の先生方がどのような研究活動を行っているのかを知るよい機会ともなりました。リン先生、どうもありがとうございました。

On May 21, 2026, we welcomed Professor Tristan Lin (Department of Emergency Management and Disaster Science, University of North Texas, USA) as a guest speaker for a lecture entitled "Nowhere to Go: Evacuation and Sheltering in Response to the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake."

Professor Lin, together with Associate Professor Hideyuki Shiroshita of our faculty and Associate Professor Alex Greer (Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, University at Albany, USA), conducted survey on evacuation behavior during the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake. In this seminar, Professor Lin introduced the theoretical framework underlying their household survey and presented some of the survey findings. He also discussed another experimental research project on evacuation behavior that he is currently conducting in the United States.

Throughout the lecture, Professor Lin encouraged questions from participants, creating an interactive learning environment in which evacuation was discussed from a variety of perspectives. The seminar also provided a valuable opportunity to learn about the research activities being conducted by scholars overseas.
