New Developments for International Communication -- Striving to Globalize Kandai
Since the beginning of 2005, the Division of International Affairs has been making great strides in realizing our slogan "Globalizing Kansai University". Our aim is to internationalize Kansai University and simultaneously make it a leader in the internationalization of Japan through nurturing global–minded students. To this end, we are pleased to announce that as of April 1, 2012, Kansai University has 61 partner universities in 23 countries and regions. Our intent through "Globalizing Kansai University" is to ensure that our campuses become truly international venues where Japanese and overseas students can enjoy productive intercultural exchanges.
A Junction for Knowledge Exchange Among Researchers and Students from All over the World
A high priority for Kansai University is to facilitate interaction among students and faculties at a global level. KU has initiated a number of international exchange programs with foreign universities. Apart from faculty and student exchanges with partner universities, Kansai University invites many visiting scholars from abroad to promote education and research here. KU also offers 12 different short–term language seminars every year, held in 10 countries throughout the world. Through these opportunities for international interaction, students develop an understanding of different cultures, and ultimately cultivate a sense of self with a global perspective.
In April 2001, Kansai University and Webster University (USA) initiated an innovative Dual Degree Program in which students are able to take courses at both universities. When enough credits have been acquired for graduation, students participating in the program will be awarded an undergraduate degree from both universities.
