Kansai University Japan-EU Research Center
The Kansai University Japan-EU Research Center was inaugurated on November 4, 2006 to coincide with the institution's 120th anniversary. Located within the University of Leuven, Belgium, it serves as a base for joint projects between Japanese and European scholars, and is dedicated to facilitating research exchange between the two regions as well as introducing local students and citizens to Japanese culture. It convenes an annual international symposium at the University of Leuven, and a biennial Japan Week, which takes place in conjunction with the former event.
Kansai University Shanghai Office
The Kansai University Shanghai Office began operations in January 2011 as the university's second overseas office. Located within the Center for Japanese Studies, Fudan University, a KU partner institution, it is dedicated to publicizing Kansai University's academic research, and community-involvement programs, and building contacts with local universities. Its responsibilities include conducting PR activities in Shanghai and other Chinese cities, and exploring collaboration opportunities with KU alumni in the region.
Kansai University Bangkok Office
The Kansai University Bangkok Office opened in October 2011 as the university's third overseas office. It is housed in Chulalongkorn University, one of Kansai University's partner institutions. Its responsibilities include promoting study opportunities at Kansai University—including the Japanese Language and Culture Program Preparatory Course (Bekka)—to prospective students, conducting academic exchange programs with partner and other universities in Thailand, organizing international symposia, workshops, and other events, and exploring and collaboration opportunities with KU alumni in the region.
Kansai University Taiwan Office
The Kansai University Taiwan Office was founded in April 2012 as the university's fourth overseas office. It is located within Cheng Shiu University, a KU partner institution based in Kaohsiung City. Its responsibilities include publicizing Kansai University's academic research, and community-involvement programs, promoting its Japanese Language and Culture Program Preparatory Course (Bekka) and other study opportunities to prospective students, and facilitating communication among local alumni.
Kansai University Beijing Office
The Kansai University Beijing office was established in November 2012 at Beijing Foreign Studies University, one of KU's partner institutions. It is Kansai University's fifth overseas office, and is tasked with facilitating academic and research collaborations between the two institutions, supporting a remote lecture system and promoting study opportunities at KU to prospective students.
