Kansai University has three educational philosophies, and one of them is internationalization.
The Division of International Affairs was established in 1982, to promote international relations with foreign educational and research institutions. The Division of International Affairs is responsible for the development, implementation, and coordination of international exchange programs for the faculty members and students of the University.
At the Division, we have been working on the embodiment of our slogan, "New Development in International Exchanges - Raising Global Awareness at Kandai" since the beginning of 2005, and we are proud to announce that as of January 1, 2008 we have 39 partner universities in 17 countries and regions. Our plan is to increase the number up to 50 universities by 2009. What our slogan intends is to
internationalize Kansai University while at the same time Kansai University itself strives to become a leader in internationalizing Japan through its students and the society it is part of. By achieving the objectives of the slogan steadily, we believe we will be able to turn our Senriyama campus and Takatsuki campus into truly international campuses which offer opportunities for Japanese and international students to enjoy intercultural exchanges.
Kansai University has initiated International Exchange Programs with foreign universities, and exchanges scholars, students, and publications regularly with them. Those universities under the Agreement for International Exchange Programs are listed here.
Besides such exchanges, Kansai University invites many visiting scholars from abroad to promote education and research at the University.
Based on our exchange agreements, Kansai University welcomes international students from our partner universities in April and September every year, and also as a general rule, Kansai University students have opportunities to go to the partner universities and study there for one year. Credits earned at 37 of our partner universities are transferable upon approval from the faculty students belong to. A scholarship from the International Exchange Fund is available to them.
Kansai University and Webster University (USA) initiated an innovative Dual Degree Program in April 2001. The students of each university take courses extensively at both universities, following careful guidelines. When enough credits required for graduation have been acquired, the students will be awarded with undergraduate degrees from both universities.
Upon approval from their respective faculty, students are also allowed to study at non-partner universities abroad with the same benefits as our student exchange program. A subsidy for the tuition during that time is available.
For students who wish to improve their English, German, French, Korean, and Chinese, Summer and Spring Language Programs are held;

The International Internship Program provides an opportunity for students to work and gain valuable experience at a foreign company. The Division of International Affairs has been supporting this program since 1999 in conjunction with Webster University, one of our partner universities, in Missouri US. Companies both in Osaka and in Missouri are hosting exchange interns for several weeks every year.
